For costs lawyers
New instructions, without the marketing spend
Find a Cost Lawyer puts incoming requests from clients and instructing solicitors in front of approved costs professionals. You see the work, you decide whether to quote, you keep control of your retainer and your fees.
Apply to joinHow supplier access works
Apply
Register a supplier account and tell us a little about your practice. We review every application before activating access.
Receive opportunities
Once approved, new customer requests appear in your supplier dashboard. You decide which ones to quote on. There is no obligation to bid.
Win the work
If the customer accepts your quote, you agree a retainer and terms directly with them. The platform steps out of the way. The retainer is yours; the fees are yours.
Who we look for
We want the platform to be a serious place to send work. To keep it that way, suppliers need to be genuinely qualified. We typically approve:
- •Costs Lawyers regulated by the Costs Lawyer Standards Board (CLSB).
- •Solicitors regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) with a substantive costs practice.
- •Legal Executives regulated by CILEx who specialise in costs.
- •Costs firms and ABS-licensed entities with appropriate supervision arrangements.
Current practising certificate or equivalent regulatory standing, professional indemnity insurance and a clean disciplinary record are expected.
What it costs
There is no fee to apply, and no fee to hold an active supplier account. The platform is currently free to use at both ends while we grow the supplier base and the volume of requests.
We will introduce a per-instruction or subscription charge at some point. Any change will be notified to suppliers in advance, and existing open instructions will be unaffected.
Frequently asked
Who owns the client relationship?
You do. The retainer is between you and the customer. The platform is simply the introducer.
Am I required to quote on every request?
No. You pick the opportunities that fit your capacity and specialism.
Can I set my own rates?
Yes. Every quote is yours to price, scope and caveat.
How soon after applying can I start receiving requests?
Applications are reviewed manually. Most decisions are made within a working day, though more complex cases may take longer.
